Haaretz reported that Israeli chef and baker Erez Komarovsky is planning to open a fine-casual restaurant in New York in the coming year.

Komarovsky is visiting New York these days scouting locations for the new venture.

The plan is to open a restaurant "with an Israeli DNA" that offers healthy food. "It won't serve pitas" said Komarovsky.

Komarovsky is a famous baker, chef, cookbook author, and founder of the popular Lechem Erez chain of restaurants in Israel. This venture is his first return to the restaurant business in a decade since leaving Lechem Erez in 2008.
