A group of former investors in Chipotle, the Mexican fast-food chain, have shifted their support away from burritos to falafel, reports Haaretz

With the new money, Taim falafel, which is owned by Israeli chef Einat Admony, will open five new locations in Manhattan. Admony also owns Balaboosta and Bar Bolonat, higher end Israeli restaurants.

Taim's two existing locations are currently located in the West Village and Soho. There is also a circulating Taim food truck. There will soon be outposts in Flatiron, Midtown, and the Financial District.

Taim's falafel comes in three flavors: Green, which combines parsley, cilantro, and mint; Harissa, which incorporates spices into the chickpeas, and Olive. The menu also features sabich, the Israeli eggplant-egg sandwich, and a variety of fresh salads.

Last year, Taim teamed up with a different celebrity guest chef each month who created unique falafel variations. Each guest chef also chose a charity that received a portion of the proceeds from the event.
