Greenspan, the "Everyday Dorie" columnist for Washington Post, has already written 12 cookbooks, has a new one out devoted to the art of baking cookies.

Dorie's Cookies contains an astonishing 170 cookie recipes as well as helpful preparation tips and storage information for every cookie recipe as well as variations for many. The recipes are divided by occasion, including cookies for a few Jewish holidays like Passover and Purim. Greenspan, who was born in Brooklyn and currently splits her time among New York City, Connecticut, and Paris, briefly owned a small cookie shop in New York called Beurre et Sel with her son, and includes many recipes from there, including that for the World Peace Cookies. The section on Cocktail Cookies features several savory cookie recipes which would be impressive for a gathering.
